UTUVO Player Go brings the music and video you already have into one focused player. Start free with local files and Apple Music: import from Files, search your library, build playlists, manage the queue, AirPlay, background playback, and control it from Apple Watch. When you need more, one purchase (never a subscription) adds network drives, cloud storage and personal media servers to the same library.
And it tells you the truth about what is playing. Codec, sample rate, bit depth, channel count, output route; shown as evidence, not as marketing. Anything the system cannot prove is labelled "Not verified" instead of being guessed.
Local imports, Apple Music, and (with Player Go Full) WebDAV, SMB, FTP, SFTP, NFS and DLNA drives, supported cloud storage, and Subsonic, Navidrome, Jellyfin, Emby and Plex servers all land in the same library, the same search, the same queue. Search by title, artist, album or lyrics. Save selected remote media for offline playback.
Player Go shows the codec, sample rate, bit depth, channel count and output route it can actually obtain, and refuses to claim what it cannot prove. Dolby Atmos is shown only when MusicKit reports it; hardware rendering is never guessed. This is the same honesty rule the rest of the UTUVO family ships with.
The app is free to download and free to keep using with local files and Apple Music. Player Go Full is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks network drives, cloud and media servers, offline downloads of remote media, headphone correction and the advanced sound, video, subtitle, bookmark and lyrics tools. There is nothing that renews.
Common audio and video take the native playback path. Everything else (MKV, WebM, AVI, TS, APE, WMA, WavPack, AC3, DTS and many more containers and codecs) can go through a VideoLAN-based universal decoder path. DSF and uncompressed DFF DSD play through a decode-to-PCM path, stated as exactly that. Format and feature availability varies by file, device and decoder; the app says so instead of promising "everything".
A 31-band EQ, stereo crossfeed, gapless playback, crossfade, A/B repeat, bookmarks, sleep fade, ReplayGain with a true-peak safety estimate, a real waveform scrubber, and word-timed LRC lyrics. Player Go Full adds headphone correction on top.
Lock Screen and Control Center playback, AirPlay output, the iPad sidebar, CarPlay with library, Up Next and full lyrics, a Home Screen widget with recent playback, Siri and Shortcuts, and an Apple Watch app that both remote-controls the phone and caches audio for offline listening.
Listening history and stats live on your device, with CSV export and a full delete-history reset. Nothing is uploaded. Last.fm scrobbling is a separate, explicit opt-in. Credentials for network sources are used for the session only, unless you explicitly choose to remember them. Then they go into the device-only Keychain, never into any file that leaves any device.
